A 501(c)(3) responder support organization

Rehabilitation, hydration, nutrition, and rest
for Texas first responders
on scene.

Texas R.E.S.T. is an all-volunteer team that deploys mobile rehab to fire, law enforcement, and EMS agencies assigned to long-duration emergency incidents across the State of Texas.

Mission

To provide rehabilitation, hydration, nourishment, shelter, climate-controlled rest, and hygiene services to active emergency responders assigned to extended-duration emergency incidents within the State of Texas, in support of fire, law enforcement, and emergency medical services agencies.

Why this exists

Across most of Texas, no one’s job is to set up rehab for the crews working a scene.

Where a dedicated rehab team exists, this is a solved problem. But across much of the state, rehab falls to a standard ambulance by default, with no fans, no ice chests, no shelter, no food, no restroom, and no decon. Responders get a tailgate and a water bottle when they need a full recovery station.

Texas R.E.S.T. takes that entire non-medical load, covering hydration, cooling and warming, food, shelter, restroom, and sanitation, so on-scene EMS can focus on responders’ health and return to service the moment the incident is under control.
